Faith Dempsey
FOUNDER
Faith started TransCoal in 1999 to offer a better logistics alternative for a group of Queensland coal mines. She has nurtured and developed the business into a significant player in the global coal market.
Her experience is unparalleled, having played a pivotal role in the establishment and growth of several domestic and international coal operations, as well as winning multiple industry awards.
PETER DUNN
CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER
Peter brings a wealth of experience to TransCoal, having worked over 40 years in a wide range of roles across bulk shipping, terminal operations and pit to port logistics and administration including time at Rio Tinto, Peabody & DBCT. He has also been involved with several industry groups having spent time on the boards of the ILC and HVCCC. Peter is a member of the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers.
Craig Smith
Logistics & Office Manager
Craig joined TransCoal in 2009 and brought significant knowledge to the team having worked over 40 years in a diverse range of operational and management roles across commodity trading, marketing, contracts administration and logistics. This includes time with companies such as Marubeni and A.C.T.A. shipping.
Alex Bell
Logistics MANAGER
Alex is a coal quality and logistics specialist with over 15 years of experience in the Queensland coal mining industry, having worked for Baralaba Coal Company in project development. This covered everything from exploration geology in the Bowen, Surat and Galilee Basins, to coal quality management and borehole database systems.
Renée Moore
ADMINISTRATION MANAGER &
PRINCIPAL LAYTIME ANALYST
Renée is responsible for managing TransCoal’s international despatch/demurrage clients, analysing and arguing points of contract on behalf of our clients. Previously in a senior role with Rio Tinto, she brings 16 year’s experience in sales and shipping management (both in South Africa and Australia) to her role with us.
Eva He
Logistics Coordinator
Eva is a highly skilled and resourceful logistics specialist, with over 10 year’s experience in operations and project management. Eva has a Masters in Environmental Management and BSc. Chemistry, as well as experience in large project cargo, machinery and oversize plant equipment logistics.
JOANNE BARTHOLOMEWPRINCIPAL LAYTIME ANALYST
Joanne is responsible for processing timely Laytime calculations and managing demurrage and despatch settlements for TransCoal clients. Her 20 years’ experience in the Australian coal industry (including 11 years at Mitsui & Co) enables her to successfully liaise with coal producers, ship owners and coal buyers.
ANDREA LEAROYD
LOGISTICS COORDINATOR
Andrea has joined with extensive background in logistics and finance. She has had over 15 years experience in logistics, with 11 years spent at DBCT in various shipping and operational planning roles.
FELICIA ATMADJA
COMMERCIAL OFFICER
Felicia has a strong commercial background with accounting/finance roles in various mining operations including Rio Tinto where she was involved in coal shipping, laytime and logistics.
John Edge
Logistics Advisor
John Edge is a respected Queensland coal industry expert with a unique blend of expertise in rail, shipping and contract administration. Having joined TransCoal as General Manager in 2000, he previously worked with Utah Development Company/BHP-Utah Coal for 18 years (exporting coal through the Ports of Hay Point, Dalrymple Bay and Gladstone); and 9 years at Queensland Bulk Handling.
